Alpha begins on Thursday 16 January, and is an opportunity for us to invite friends to explore faith and ask questions, to introduce others to Jesus, and to serve. During our Christmas services we will be opening the invite to Alpha, so that those who are stirred or moved have somewhere to take their questions.
To allow Alpha to run smoothly, we are looking to build a team who will facilitate the course for its 13-week run, every Thursday evening, with a break for half term. We need table hosts, who are:
· warm, caring, and friendly
· good listeners
· proactive and seek out the quieter guests to befriend them
· able to facilitate the conversation during the small group time
· happy to allow others to speak first in the small group
· willing to pray for the small group on a regular basis
Hosting a table is an exciting role, as you get to point people to Jesus, and watch people grow in their understanding of who he is. It is a fundamental role on an Alpha course so that everyone exploring feels able to ask all their questions.
For those willing to commit to hosting an Alpha table, we will be running a training evening on Thursday 9 January at 7pm.
Alpha evenings always start with a meal, so alongside table hosts we are also in need of people who are passionate about catering and hospitality, and able to provide food or help with setup and clear-up.
